What Will Your Auto Glass Replacement Cost You?
Your out-of-pocket cost depends on your MPI deductible level. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll pay for each type of auto glass service.
Glass claims do NOT affect your MPI rates, premiums, or Driver Safety Rating.
How to Find Your Deductible
Check the "ALL PERILS" line on the white portion of your vehicle registration card. This shows your current deductible level. Most Manitoba drivers have the $200 deductible.

Important Notes (Updated April 1, 2026):
- Stone chip repairs are now FREE at all extension deductible levels ($200, $300, $500, and $750). If you have any extension coverage, chip repairs cost you $0.
- Extension $200 is the only level that also waives deductibles for vandalism and theft claims.
- The previous $200 Plus and $200 Standard have been combined into a single Extension $200 with all the Plus features included.
- The basic deductible is now $1,000 (increased from $750). A new Extension $750 option is available.
- Vandalism claims require a police report number. In Winnipeg, file online through the Winnipeg Police Service.
- Your deductible is the maximum you’ll pay. MPI covers the rest — we bill them directly.
- If you have the $1,000 basic deductible, an out-of-pocket quote may be cheaper than filing a claim. We’ll help you compare.
- Vehicles with ADAS (2018+) may have higher total repair costs due to required calibration — making claims worthwhile even at higher deductibles.
